Wendy's Auto Wrecking Blog

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. My name is Wendy and the thing I find most exciting in life is auto wrecking. It might sound strange but I have always loved taking things apart. When I was a kid we had to watch an educational film at school about the auto business. It was pretty dull until they got to the part in which the workers took the cars apart, stripped them of all the useful bits and then squashed them into tiny little blocks. I'm not a professional, but I have learnt all you can about auto wrecking, so I decided to start this blog. Enjoy!

Is Your Vehicle Trying To Tell You It Needs A Car Service?

Being a motorist exposes you to vehicle trouble at the most inopportune times. What most car owners do not realise is that these inconveniences can be avoided if you maintain a regular car-servicing schedule. This is because some of the problems your car may be experiencing can be caught early before they get a chance to escalate. By spotting the telltale indicators in good time, you can avert disasters such as your vehicle breaking down right in the middle of the road. Here are some of the signs that your vehicle is trying to relay it needs a car service.

The car's brakes are either overly sensitive or unresponsive

Your vehicle's brakes are crucial for safe driving. When working at optimum, you should always experience a crisp response from them when engaging the brake pedal. Some of the abnormal responses to be wary of from your brake include increased resistance, strange noses emanating from the brakes or spongy brakes that are overly sensitive. Your brakes are made up from an assortment of parts and if one of them is succumbing to disrepair, it will affect the entire functionality of the braking system. Taking your vehicle for car servicing gives you the chance to have the problem established and remedied in good time.

The car is experiencing abnormal vibrations

Granted, your vehicle will shudder from time to time depending on the terrain you are driving on. However, if you notice that these vibrations are becoming frequent, regardless of where you are driving, there could be other underlying causes. One of the minor causes of abnormal vibrations in your vehicle is loose parts that are rubbing against each other. However, it could also be caused by other serious reasons such as tyres that are unbalanced, loosened bearings and more.

The vehicle is producing weird noises

Another telltale sign you should be wary of when it comes to the functionality of your vehicle is strange noises. For instance, if you begin to hear squeaking noises whenever you are engaging the ignition, it could be a sign that one of the belts in your car has either come loose or has become worn out. On the other hand, if you start hearing squeaking noises when you are driving the vehicle, it could indicate decreased fluid in your power steering or tyres that have become imbalanced over time. It is always best to have the source of the strange noise pinpointed by a mechanic to prevent escalation of the problem.
