Wendy's Auto Wrecking Blog

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. My name is Wendy and the thing I find most exciting in life is auto wrecking. It might sound strange but I have always loved taking things apart. When I was a kid we had to watch an educational film at school about the auto business. It was pretty dull until they got to the part in which the workers took the cars apart, stripped them of all the useful bits and then squashed them into tiny little blocks. I'm not a professional, but I have learnt all you can about auto wrecking, so I decided to start this blog. Enjoy!

How to Sell Your Old Car

Selling your old car can be quite challenging. It is especially so if the vehicle is not in roadworthy condition. Read this extract for some tips on how to sell your old car.

Selling It to Individual Buyers

It is an ideal option if your car has a high demand. For instance, say you own a classic car or a rare sports car. Contact fellow car enthusiasts and advertise your vehicle on car forums. It is a sure way to sell the car through word of mouth. Alternatively, you could opt to post the vehicle on E-commerce websites or buy-sell groups on social media. If this is the case, take appealing photos of the vehicle and include an accurate description. Your vehicle should be competitively priced. Otherwise, you will have a difficult time selling it.

Selling It for Parts

It is ideal for car enthusiasts who have the patience and expertise to dismantle their vehicles and sell individual parts. As a rule, your car parts must be in excellent condition. Clean them using grease cleaner to alcohol to restore their shine. When listing the car parts, you should include the OEM number and parts history. For example, what's its current mileage? Does it have any defects? Have you repaired the part in the recent past? Contact fellow car enthusiasts and local part dealers to get a reasonable price on the used parts.

Selling It to a Cash for Cars Business

Cash for cars are businesses that instantly purchase used vehicles in any condition. They are a perfect option when you are in urgent need to get rid of your old car. For instance, say you need some money or extra storage space in your home. The secret to selling your vehicle to a cash for cars dealer is conducting adequate research to determine the actual market value of your car. Contact a few cash-for-cars companies and inquire how much they will offer for your vehicle. You may want to consider cheap repairs to raise the value of the car. For example, you could service the engine, buff the exterior, or install new tires. Check the terms of the sale. For instance, you may or may not be charged for towing services. Besides, check when and how the company will make payments.

Selling your old car should now be an easy task. Consider selling it to individual buyers, dismantling it for parts, or selling it to a cash for used cars business.
